Music festival comes to Cloquet on Saturday

Organizers of the fifth annual Wood City Music Festival are expecting thousands of music fans to descend on Cloquet’s Veterans Park on Saturday, Aug. 11.

The free Christian music festival runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The event features 12 local, regional and national artists from several music genres on two stages, beginning with the Tucker Family at 11:30 a.m. and ending with Manic Drive at 8 p.m. and headliner The Afters at 9 p.m.

A children’s area is growing and will include a mini-play, face painting, animal balloons, giant bubbles, crafts, the Duluth mobile zoo and various games. There will be a prayer tent.

Food available for purchase includes smoked pork sandwiches, burgers, brats, hot dogs, ice cream and mini-doughnuts.

Although the festival is free, donations are welcome. Find a schedule of the bands at woodcitymusicfest.com. There also will be an all-community church service in the park at 11 a.m. Sunday.
