Registration begins for Christmas Lighting Contest
Bentleyville started in 2001 at the home of a man who really liked Christmas lights. In the spirit of that backyard display, the organization encourages residents in northern Minnesota and Wisconsin to enter the Christmas Lighting Challenge to show their “Bentley.”
The contest is free to enter. Voting, which is done by the community for homes and businesses, begins Nov. 30. The final day to vote is Dec. 19.
Winners will be recognized at an awards ceremony Dec. 21 and will receive a gift basket and award.
Entry for the lighting challenge begins Nov. 1 at asweeteventus.com/lightingchallenge.
Event categories include:
- Grand Master — Category for Masters winners that have won two years. They remain in this category for five years.
- Master — This category is for homes that have won the previous two contests.
- Lighting Challenge Winners — “Best in Home” and “Best in Business” are based on the number of total votes overall per city.
- Favorite City — Vote for your “Favorite City” is to encourage friendly regional competition.
